WALKUP
Bruce
Walkup, attorney, was born in Berkeley, California, on September 26, 1914. His
mother was Florence Fitch.
He obtained both his preparatory and
legal education at the University of California from which he received the
degree of A.B. in 1935 and the degree of LL.B. in 1938; member of student Board
of Editors of California Law Review; admitted to the California bar and the
Federal Courts in 1938 and to the United States Supreme Court at Washington,
D.C., in 1945.
Mr. Walkup was associated with the
firm of Donahue, Richards & Hamlin at Oakland, California, from 1938 to
1941. In 1941 he removed to San Francisco, California, where he was associated
with the firm of Thelan, Marrin,
Johnson & Bridges until 1947. Since 1947 he has headed his own law office
in San Francisco, specializing in trial practice.
Member of the State Bar of
California; San Francisco Bar Association; Lawyers Club of San Francisco;
member of National Association of Claimants and Compensation Attorneys; and
assistant editor of NACCA Law Journal; member of Board of Governors of Northern
California chapter of National Association of Claimants and Compensation
Attorneys; University Club of Alameda County; Phi Delta Phi (legal) and Beta
Theta Pi fraternities.
In 1939 Mr. Walkup married Betty Makins at Berkeley, California, and has one daughter, Joan,
born in 1941.
