SAMUEL H. WAGENER

 

 

Samuel H. Wagener, attorney, was born June 12, 1903, in San Francisco, California. The son of Paul H. and Ruth Butler (Catlin) Wagener.

            After attending the public schools in San Jose, Vallejo and Richmond, California, he entered University of California where he received his A.B. and J.D. degrees. Admitted to the State Bar of California, at San Francisco, in October of 1927.

            Mr. Wagener was associated with the firm of Snook, Snook & Chase from 1927 to 1929; then with Roscoe D. Jones, Oakland, California, from 1929 to 1930. He was attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Alameda County, California, from 1930 to 1935 and supervising attorney until 1945. In 1935 he entered into partnership with John A. Bohn. The partnership dissolved in 1945 and since then he has been partner in the firm of Wagener and Brailsford (William H. Jr.), Oakland, California.

            Member of Theta Chi, Phi Alpha Delta (legal) fraternities; Elks; American Bar Association, State Bar of California, Alameda County Bar Association (vice president); Lawyers Club of Alameda County (past president); Lions Club (vice president); Family Service Bureau of Oakland (past president); and Legal Aid Society of Alameda County (past president).

            Mr. Wagener married Pauine Hughett on December 17, 1932, and they have one son, Paul H. Wagener, II, born December 3, 1933. Their home is in Oakland, California, at 455 Florence Avenue.
