EVANS M.
TAYLOR
Evans M.
Taylor, attorney, son of Churchill and Augusta (Evans) Taylor, was born in
Oakland, California, on October 13, 1903.
He received his legal education at
the University of California Boalt Hall of Law and
was admitted to the California State Bar in December of 1928.
Mr. Taylor was formerly associated
with the firm of Miller & Thornton, then firm of Thornton & Watt, and
later a member of the firm of Thornton, Menzies and
Taylor, with offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Now
member of the firm of Thornton and Taylor, San Francisco.
Former member and
director of the San Francisco Junior Chamber of Commerce, and chairman of its
Fire Prevention Committee. Chairman of Fire Safety
Committee of the Governor’s Western Safety Conference in 1935, and of Committee
on Earthquake Hazards and Building Codes.
Member of Order of
Blue Goose International (insurance) and Fire Underwriters Association of the
Pacific.
He holds membership in the American
Bar Association (Section on Insurance Law), California State Bar Association,
San Francisco Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity; and the Stock
Exchange Club.
Mr. Taylor married Helen Fortmann on July 28, 1931, and they have two children, Judy
Ardith, born in 1936, and Dennis Magarr,
born in 1941. The family home is at 79 La Salle Avenue, Piedmont, California.
