CHAS. H. HAILE
Grand Receiver.
At the institution of the Grand
Lodge of California, 13th day of November, 1877, Bro. Haile was elected Grand Receiver, and has held this
responsible trust continuously—an example of honesty and faithful service. As a
Workman he has taken a prominent part in building and solidifying this order.
He has from an early age taken an active part in fraternal societies, and has
held leading official positions during his useful career. He is a member of the
Masonic Veterans’ Association of California, and served four years as
Worshipful Master, and ten years as Recorder. He has been a trustee of the Orphans’
Home at Vallejo, under the auspices of the Good Templars,
and prominent official office in that order.
Bro. Haile
is a man of warm and ardent friendships, generous impulses, and decided
opinions. Having been trained in a rigid school of rectitude, he admits of no
compromise with wrong, and is always ready to champion the right and assist the
weak whenever he can, regardless of aspersion of personal discomfort. His life
has been one of continued usefulness, and his record has been one that has been
that of a faithful and honest financial agent, that has aided the growth, and
stability of the Ancient Order of United Workmen.
