MONROE FRIEDMAN

 

            Monroe Friedman was born October 10, 1895, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Attended the University of California where he received the A.B. degree in 1916 and the J.D. degree in 1920; did graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Michigan.  Also a graduate of School of the Line, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.  He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1920 and to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 1930.

            Judge Friedman was in practice of the law, individually, at Oakland, California, until his appointment in July 1952, to the United States District Court, Northern District of California.

            In 1928 he married Frances Davis and they have one daughter, Elaine (Mrs. Nemer).
