W. FISHER
Charles
W. Fisher was born at Oakland, California, on February 10, 1896; son of P. M.
Fisher and Anna K. (Laumeister).
Education in the Oakland public
grade and high schools, University of California (Hastings College of Law)
1922—degree of LL.B. Practicing attorney (civil) in Oakland since 1922. World
War I veteran with foreign service.
Member California State Assembly
1931 to 1937, member Oakland Board of Education since 1941, president of said
Board 1952; president of Homes & Children’s Alliance, Inc. (a beneficent
foundation) since 1927; member of Oakland Public Library Board of Directors
1927 to 1939; Phi Delta Phi honor Legal Fraternity; former member North Oakland
Kiwanis Club (Board of Directors for seven years, secretary for two years);
post commander North Oakland Post No.423, American Legion; attorney for Post
1010 Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United State since 1943; charter member of
Lawyers Club of Alameda County; member of Associated Sportsmen of California;
Republican; Live Oak Lodge No. 61 F. & A.M. Oakland; member Alameda County
Bar Association and State Bar of California.
Married Elsie Allen Leicester
November 18, 1925.
Since 1930 he has diligently
sponsored conservation legislation for the protection of fish and game of
California.
