JOHN BREUNER
Louis
John Breuner, chairman of the Board of John Breuner Company, was born in Sacramento, California, on
July 27, 1894. He is the son of Louis F. and Clara F.L. (Schmidt) Breuner.
His preliminary education was
obtained at the public grade and high schools of Sacramento, California; later
a student at University of Pennsylvania, 1913-14.
Mr. Breuner
was vice president of John Breuner Company, retail
home furnishings, Oakland, California, from 1922 to 1940; president from 1940
to 1946; and chairman of the Board since 1946. He is also the president of East
Bay Municipal Utility District; vice president and director of Northern Housewares Company; director of Alameda County-East Bay
Title Insurance Company; and past president and director of the National Retail
Furniture Association; also member and director of Retail Furniture Association
of California.
Mason (Shriner);
member of the following clubs: Athenian Nile, Claremont Country, and Oakland
Rotary.
Mr. Breuner
married Margaret A. Kirk on December 5, 1916, and has two daughters, Margaret
B. (Mrs. Stanley Johnson) and Carolyn B. (Mrs. Donald L. Richards).
