H. THEODORE BIRR, JR.

 

 

            H. Theodore Birr, Jr., president and director of First California Company and chairman of the Board of Blair, Rollins & Co., was born in Oakland, California on June 28, 1907, the son of H. T. and Elizabeth (Carstenn) Birr.  His preparatory education was obtained at the University of California.

            Mr. Birr served as an officer of the Bank of American (formerly Bank of Italy) from 1924 to 1930; manager of Dardi-Reinhard & Company from 1930 to 1932; with the Associated American Distributors from 1932 to 1937; associated with the Bankamerica Company from 1937 to 1945; associated with First California Company since 1945 and president of the same since 1947.  He is also chairman of the Board of Blair, Rollins & Co., New York; director of Blair Holdings Corporation, Langendorf United Bakeries, Inc., Portland Transit Company, Rosefield Packing Company, Western Frozen Foods Co., Inc.

            Mr. Birr belongs to the San Francisco Commercial Club, Stock Exchange Club, Bond Club of San Francisco, Commonwealth Club, Orinda Country Club; member of Beta Phi Sigma fraternity.

            On May 25, 1929, he married Antoinette Corriea.  They are the parents of two sons, H. T. III and Robert Roger.  The family home is at 21 Selborne Drive, Piedmont, California.
