LEROY A. WRIGHT

 

 

      Leroy A. Wright is senior member of the well established law firm of Wright, McKee-Monroe, of San Diego, and has attained a large measure of success. He is a native of Indiana, and was born in 1863 at New London. After receiving his educational training in public schools of Kansas and the Kansas State Normal School and Kansas State University, he engaged in newspaper work for about ten years. In 1887 he moved to San Diego and engaged in the private study of law, being admitted to the bar in 1891.

      Since then Mr. Wright has engaged in general civil practice, specializing in corporation, probate and insurance law. He was for a time senior member of the firm of Wright & Wimmeck, and then the firm of Wright & McKee was organized, assuming its present form of Wright, McKee-Monroe in 1926.

      They represent as Counsel many important interests, including the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Co., Pacific Cottonseed Oil Products Corporation, Aetna Casualty & Surety Co., Aetna Life Insurance Co., Southern Title Guaranty Co., Southern Trust & Commerce Bank, Benson Lumber Co., Escondido Mutual Water Co., Vista Irrigation District and the Motor Transit Co.

      From 1907 to 1915 Mr. Wright was State Senator from the 40th District of California, and also served as Vice President of the San Diego City Library. He holds membership in the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, and San Diego Bar Association, as well as the Cuyamaca Club and the Elks, which he has served as Exalter Ruler. In 1900 he married Ida M. Heffleman and they have two children, Lester A. and Evelyn.
